Window Period
|
From time of infection till time of detection of HIV antibodies in the blood sample….usually three months. Very Crucial period because though infected and the Antibodies NOT showing in the blood sample the person believes he/she is not infected. But during the Window Period the infected person can pass on HIV through unprotected sex, donating blood and donating organs. The counselor MUST make the person understand the WINDOW PERIOD
